Product Description
Shredded cooked meat is one of the slowest jobs on a sandwich, wrap or ready-meal line. Done by hand it is inconsistent, labour-heavy and difficult to scale. The DS400 turns that step into a controlled, repeatable process.
The DS400 is a shredder for cooked meat. Four sets of rotary toothed shafts grip the product as it passes through and pull it apart, separating the muscle fibres instead of cutting through them.
That distinction matters in the finished product. A shred that keeps its fibre structure holds sauce and dressing better and reads as hand-pulled meat rather than mince. It also drains more predictably, which keeps fill weights stable.
The machine is built for cooked chicken, pork and beef. It handles both tender and firm products in the same pass, so pulled chicken for sandwiches, shredded pork for tacos and shredded beef for ready meals can all run on one unit.
The DS400 is specified for cooked meat. The shaft arrangement grips and pulls rather than compresses, which keeps piece definition high and limits smearing.
Food contact parts are stainless steel and engineering plastics, built to HACCP hygiene standards so the machine can be opened and cleaned between shifts. Electrical components are Siemens and the safety parts are CE-approved. A safety switch stops the drive when the guard is lifted, and the shaft set can be reached without dismantling the drive assembly.

The DS400 is designed to sit inside a line rather than on a bench. Product is loaded at the top, shredded through the shaft set, and discharged onto a 7 m/min belt that aligns with the next conveyor or a packing table.
Because discharge is continuous, the unit works well downstream of a cooker or smokehouse and upstream of a weigher or tray sealer. It is a natural addition to a meat processing line alongside forming, grinding and sausage making equipment, where shredded cooked meat feeds fillings, toppings and ready meals.
Can the DS400 shred raw meat?
No. The DS400 is designed for cooked chicken, pork and beef. Raw meat behaves differently under the shafts and should be reduced with a grinder, bowl cutter or dicer instead.
What throughput can I expect?
Between 200 and 400 kg/h. Actual output depends on piece size, product temperature and how far the meat has been broken down before shredding.
What piece sizes will it accept?
Up to 252 mm wide and 200 mm long. Larger pieces should be cut down first.
How much floor space does it need?
The unit measures 708 x 990 x 1990 mm. Allow additional clearance for loading at the top and for the 7 m/min discharge belt.
Is it hard to clean?
No. Food contact parts are stainless steel and engineering plastics chosen for hygiene work, and the shaft set is accessible without stripping the drive.
Will it damage the meat?
The shafts pull the fibres apart rather than chopping. The result is a shred with visible structure, closer to hand-pulled meat than to mince.
