Two custom-engineered YW300E-I electric grill markers — compact 300mm units built to fit a tight production floor — have been shipped to a Russian sandwich manufacturer. Designed around the client's existing 300mm-wide sandwich line conveyor, the machines deliver full-size grill marking performance in a footprint 40% smaller than the standard model, solving the client's space constraint without compromising throughput or marking quality.
The client — a Russian sandwich and bakery products manufacturer — had already committed to a specific production layout: a 300mm-wide sandwich assembly conveyor running through their existing facility. The planned grill marking station needed to fit within that line's footprint. Standard grill markers, including TINDO's YW600E-I dual-channel model delivered to another Russian client, require 600mm+ belt widths and correspondingly larger floor space.
The constraint was unambiguous: the grill marker had to match a 300mm conveyor, or the entire production layout had to change.
Changing the layout meant re-planning equipment positions, re-routing utilities, and accepting weeks of production disruption — a cost the client was not willing to accept. The alternative: a custom grill marker engineered around the 300mm constraint.
TINDO's engineering team accepted the challenge — building a purpose-designed compact grill marker with the marking mechanism scaled to a 300mm effective marking width while preserving the full functionality of the standard range.
Parameter | Specification |
|---|---|
Model | YW300E-I (custom compact) |
Heating Source | Electric |
Installed Power | 19.12 kW |
Effective Marking Width | 300 mm |
Roll Size | Ø190 mm |
Product Humidity Tolerance | Up to 75% |
Dimensions (L×W×H) | 1,600×1,200×1,600 mm |
Weight | 300 kg |
Quantity | 2 units |
1. 300mm marking width in a standard-height machine. The marking mechanism (heated rolls, pressure system, temperature control) normally occupies a 600mm-wide envelope. Scaling to 300mm required re-engineering the roll mounting, drive arrangement, and heat distribution — not simply narrowing a standard frame. Heat had to remain uniform across the full 300mm marking surface despite the compact geometry.
2. 75% product humidity tolerance. Sandwich bread arriving from the assembly line carries significant surface moisture (up to 75% humidity). Standard grill markers assume drier product surfaces. The YW300E-I's heating elements and belt materials were specified to handle high-moisture contact without steam damage, uneven marking, or belt degradation.
3. Direct conveyor integration. The marker's infeed and discharge were designed to match the client's existing 300mm conveyor height and transfer pitch — plug-and-play into the running line with no modification to the surrounding equipment.
While the YW300E-I was designed for a sandwich line, the compact marking platform handles a wide range of products:
Product | Marking Application |
|---|---|
Sandwich bread slices | Parallel char lines for grilled sandwich appearance |
Chicken breast (flattened) | Char-grill lines on cooked chicken for sandwich fillings |
Steak / beef portions | Authentic grill marks for hot-sandwich and burger products |
Vegetables (zucchini, eggplant, onion) | Grill marks for vegetarian sandwich options |
Burger buns | Light surface branding before filling |
Situation | TINDO's Approach |
|---|---|
Standard product, standard layout | Ship from the standard catalog range (e.g., YW600E-I dual-channel) |
Standard product, constrained floor space | Custom compact build — scale the mechanism, keep the functionality (this project) |
Non-standard product shape/size | Custom roll geometry, belt width, or marking pattern |
Non-standard utility (voltage, fuel, humidity) | Factory-configured to the client's site conditions |
The YW300E-I demonstrates TINDO's engineering flexibility: a full-function grill marker, reduced to 40% smaller footprint, matched to the client's exact conveyor width and humidity conditions — delivered as a pair, factory-tested, and ready for direct line integration.
Factor | Electric (YW300E-I) | Gas |
|---|---|---|
Installed power | 19.12 kW (electric) | Burner input equivalent |
Temperature control | Digital, ±2°C PID | Burner modulation |
Installation | Plug into 3-phase supply | Gas connection + ventilation |
Footprint | Compact — no gas train | Larger — burner manifold + flue |
Best for | Indoor factories, small spaces | High-volume continuous lines, cheap gas regions |
For this Russian client, electric heating was the correct choice: the compact footprint left no room for a gas manifold, and the sandwich line's moderate throughput didn't justify gas infrastructure.
