Continuous Rolling Vacuum Packaging Machine

When a chamber machine stops keeping up

A chamber machine seals in batches. The operator loads the chamber, closes the lid, waits for the vacuum, waits for the seal, waits for the release, then does it again. Nothing moves while the pump runs. As the pack grows the chamber has to grow with it, and every extra litre of chamber is another litre to evacuate before the seal can start. Past a certain pack size and a certain output, the waiting becomes the shift.

A rolling machine changes the shape of that problem. Product travels along a belt, a hood closes over the belt, and vacuum is drawn in a moving sealing zone rather than in a box that has to be filled, evacuated and emptied every time. Loading at one end and unloading at the other can overlap with the sealing cycle instead of queueing behind it.

How the rolling cycle runs

Packs are laid on the infeed belt and index into the sealing zone. The hood closes over the belt, air is drawn through the pump, the sealing bar closes on the bag neck, and the hood lifts as the belt carries the finished pack out. Because the belt does not have to be fully emptied between cycles, one operator can keep feeding while packs discharge at the far end.

The published figure for both machines is 2 to 5 cycles a minute. That is cycles at the sealing zone, not packs per hour. Packs per hour also depends on how many packs the bar closes at once and how long the pack is, so the cycle figure is a starting point for line planning rather than a finished throughput number.

One model number, two machines

The DZ-1000/1100 name covers two distinct machines, and the difference matters before ordering. The single seal rolling vacuum packaging machine closes one pack per cycle on a single 1000 × 8 mm bar, with a 1120 × 445 × 90 mm chamber. The double seal rolling vacuum packaging machine carries two 1000 × 8 mm bars over a deeper 1120 × 530 × 100 mm chamber and closes two packs per cycle.

Both run on a 100 to 200 m³/h pump and a 380V/50Hz supply, and the outlines differ only slightly: 1580 × 1800 × 1300 mm for the double seal version, 1540 × 1800 × 1300 mm for the single seal version.

What the specification tells you, and what it does not

The table covers chamber dimensions, sealing line, output, pump, power supply and outline. It does not state motor power or machine weight, and we do not publish figures we cannot stand behind. Ask, and we will confirm the current build sheet for the configuration you are ordering.

Chamber depth decides most projects. A 90 mm chamber handles flat and moderate packs. The 100 mm chamber on the double seal version takes a taller pack, which is usually why that version is specified for bone-in and block product.

Where continuous packing fits

Rolling machines earn their floor space on large bags, bone-in cuts, whole muscle, blocks and bulk catering packs, which are the cases where a chamber machine would have to be very large and the batch cycle very slow. They also suit a line where one operator loads continuously instead of batching between cycles.

They are the wrong answer for small retail packs at moderate volume, where a chamber machine or a tray sealer is simpler, and for product that needs a deep chamber to stand upright through the cycle.

Choosing between the two versions

Start from packs per cycle. If the line needs more than one pack closed at a time to reach its target, the double seal version does that inside the same footprint family. If one large bag per cycle is the normal case, the single seal version closes it on a shallower chamber, which lowers the loading height and keeps the belt easier to reach.

Tell us the bag size, the product and the packs per shift, and we will confirm which of the two fits and whether this family is the right one at all. The packing machine range page lists the chamber and thermoforming alternatives that sit beside it.
